First Visit – Osteopathic Treatment

Osteopaths assist in the recovery from pain and injury, and improve general wellbeing through gentle ‘hands on’ therapy, advice on posture, activities of daily life, exercise and diet.   Click here for further information on Osteopathy.

During your initial consultation your Osteopath will ask questions and examine you for any pathology or injury as well as stiffness, weakness, strength and patterns of muscle support.  We ask that you please download and complete the First Visit Form, and to bring it with you to streamline your first visit.

The findings will be discussed with you to develop a treatment plan that will assist recovery, reduce pain and improve your general well being.  Strategies to prevent re-occurrence can also be discussed.

Payment Methods and Health Fund Rebates

Depending on your health fund and level of cover your treatment may be covered by your health fund.  Hunter Health provides an electronic rebate facility that connects with your health fund.  You can claim directly from your health fund and then use your credit card, debit card, or cash to pay the gap.

Please bring your private health card with you to your treatment. We require payment in full following treatment. Workers compensation claims and third party insurance claims are the responsibility of the client.

Do I need a referral?

Many clients are referred to Osteopaths by their Doctor, other health practitioners or personal trainers.  However, as Osteopaths are primary practitioners, you can make an appointment without a referral.

Cancellation / Fail to attend Policy

Please be advised that a cancellation less than 24 hours before your appointment, or failure to attend your appointment, will result in the full fee being charged.
